PRIVACY NOTICE

Your information.
Our responsibility.

How Adad handles personal data when you visit this website, make an enquiry or contact the firm about working with us.

Last updated: 31 October 2026

The enquiry form prepares an email draft on your device. It does not send your message to Adad or store it in a website database. We receive your enquiry only if you send it through your email application or another contact channel.

1. Who is responsible

Adad for Legal Consultancy and Advocacy, also referred to as Adad Law Firm, is the controller of personal data that it determines how and why to use in connection with this website and initial communications. Our office is at Level 9, Manarat Lusail, Building No. 23, Zone 69, Lusail City, Qatar.

This notice is framed by Qatar Law No. (13) of 2016 concerning Personal Data Privacy Protection and applicable requirements under it. Privacy enquiries and requests should be sent to info@adadlaw.com, marked “Privacy”, or to our office address. You may also contact us on +974 6633 3993.

2. What this notice covers

This notice covers website visitors, prospective clients and their representatives, business contacts, international counsel and people who send career enquiries. It explains the website and initial-contact arrangements; it does not purport to describe every use of personal data in a client matter.

If we accept an instruction, additional information about the processing relevant to that matter may be provided through our engagement documents or a separate notice. A more specific notice will identify the processing it covers. Professional confidentiality and applicable legal obligations continue to apply.

3. Information and sources

You may give us your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, role and information about the proposed matter, parties and relevant dates. A career enquiry may include a CV, qualifications, employment history and correspondence. We ask for information relevant to the purpose of the communication.

We ordinarily obtain this information from you. We may also receive relevant contact or preliminary matter information from an authorised colleague, referring adviser or instructing firm. Where preliminary checks are necessary, information may be checked against publicly available corporate, professional or regulatory sources.

Hosting, delivery and security services may process IP addresses, request dates and times, requested pages, browser and device information, error records and security events. These technical records support delivery, troubleshooting and protection of the website.

4. Purposes and grounds for processing

We process personal data with consent where required, or where processing is necessary for a lawful purpose permitted by Qatar law. The purposes below explain why information is used; they are not a claim that every item is required for every enquiry.

ContextPurpose and relevant ground
Enquiries and proposed instructionsTo understand the request, communicate with you, assess whether we can assist and carry out appropriate preliminary checks. The relevant lawful purposes are responding to the request and considering a professional engagement.
Business and counsel correspondenceTo manage the proposed or existing professional relationship, coordinate work and maintain an accurate record of communications.
Career enquiriesTo consider and respond to your expression of interest and assess information relevant to a potential role. Any additional recruitment checks will be addressed at the appropriate stage.
Website delivery and securityTo make pages available, diagnose faults and identify misuse or security threats. These are operational and security purposes associated with running the website.
Legal and professional responsibilitiesTo comply with applicable duties, respond to lawful requests and establish, exercise or defend legal rights, to the extent the processing is necessary and permitted.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it through the contact details above. Withdrawal does not retrospectively invalidate processing carried out lawfully before it. It also does not require us to stop processing that must or may lawfully continue on another applicable ground.

Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. The website has no marketing subscription service. Electronic direct marketing requires prior consent under Qatar law; any such communication must identify the sender and provide an effective way to stop further messages.

5. The enquiry form and your choices

The form uses information entered on the page to prepare a draft and a link to your email application. The draft is not automatically sent. We do not operate a website enquiry database, an upload facility or a payment function. Our website code does not save the form contents in cookies or browser storage; your browser or email application may retain its own autofill or draft information.

Name, email and a brief outline are required to use the draft-preparation function. Company / organisation and enquiry area are optional. You can instead email or telephone us. Providing information is voluntary, although insufficient information may prevent us from responding meaningfully or assessing a proposed instruction.

Please keep the first message brief. Do not include identification documents, financial account details, passwords, client files or other confidential or sensitive material before we agree an appropriate channel. Information about another person should be limited to what is necessary and shared only where you are entitled to provide it.

6. Access and disclosure

Information received by Adad is used by the personnel who need it for the relevant enquiry, professional relationship or administrative function. It may be processed by providers of email, hosting, IT support, document and security services as necessary to supply those services.

Where the matter requires it and disclosure is lawful, relevant information may be shared with referring or instructing counsel, professional advisers, counterparties, courts, regulators or other competent authorities. Disclosure is limited by its purpose, professional confidentiality and applicable law. An initial enquiry does not authorise unrestricted circulation of its contents.

We do not sell personal data or provide enquiry information to advertising networks.

7. Processing outside Qatar

Email, hosting and other technology services may involve infrastructure or authorised support outside Qatar. An international instruction may also require information to be exchanged with counsel or advisers in another jurisdiction. Personal data may therefore be stored, accessed or processed outside Qatar.

Any such processing remains subject to the requirements applicable to Adad, including confidentiality, purpose limitation and protection against unlawful processing or serious harm to personal data or privacy. Appropriate contractual and organisational arrangements are required for the service or disclosure concerned. You may ask us for information about overseas processing relevant to your communication. This website does not represent that all information remains in Qatar.

8. How retention is determined

Retention depends on the record and its purpose. We do not apply a single period to all website and correspondence information. The relevant criteria are:

  • For an enquiry that does not become an instruction: the time needed to assess and close the enquiry, together with any justified conflict, complaint, professional or legal record.
  • For business correspondence: the duration and purpose of the relationship, outstanding actions and relevant legal or professional record-keeping requirements.
  • For career enquiries: the time needed to consider and conclude the expression of interest and any justified recruitment record. Holding information for a distinct future recruitment purpose requires that purpose to be addressed with you.
  • For technical records: the hosting or security purpose, the provider’s applicable retention arrangements and any incident requiring investigation.
  • Where a legal duty, dispute, investigation or preservation requirement applies: the period required for that obligation or issue, with access limited as appropriate.

Information should be deleted or effectively de-identified when the relevant purpose has ended and there is no lawful reason to retain it. You may ask which retention criteria apply to the information you have provided.

9. Confidentiality and security

Personal data must be handled with appropriate administrative and technical protection against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse. Access and disclosure must correspond to the purpose of the work and applicable confidentiality duties. The website uses HTTPS, and its enquiry form does not transmit message contents to a website server.

No website or email system can promise absolute security. If a personal data incident engages a notification obligation, Adad must inform the competent authority and affected individuals as required by applicable law. Please contact us promptly if you believe information sent to us has been compromised.

10. Your rights and how to exercise them

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in Qatar law, you may:

  • Withdraw consent previously given for processing.
  • Object where processing is unnecessary for its stated purpose, excessive, discriminatory, unfair or contrary to law.
  • Request deletion or erasure in the circumstances provided by law, including where the purpose has ended and no justification for retention remains.
  • Ask to be informed about the processing and its purposes, and any disclosure of inaccurate personal data about you.
  • Obtain access to your personal data and request a copy.
  • Request correction of your personal data, supported by evidence of the correction requested.

Send your request to info@adadlaw.com, marked “Privacy request”, with enough detail to identify the information and the action requested. We may seek proportionate information to verify identity or authority before disclosing or changing a record; please do not send identity documents unless requested through an agreed channel.

We will assess and respond in accordance with applicable requirements. Legal duties, professional confidentiality, the rights of others and statutory exceptions may affect the response. Where permitted, we will explain any restriction or refusal and the reasons for it.

11. Questions and complaints

Please raise a concern with Adad through the privacy contact above so that it can be investigated. Identify the communication or processing concerned, the issue and the outcome you seek.

You may also contact Qatar’s National Cyber Security Agency concerning personal data privacy protection. Its individual complaints guidance explains the relevant route; privacy enquiries may be addressed to privacy@ncsa.gov.qa.

12. Cookies, external services and automated decisions

We have not configured advertising trackers, audience analytics, social-media pixels or non-essential cookies in the website. Hosting, access-control or security services may use technical cookies or similar mechanisms necessary to deliver and protect access. Private review access may require a separate hosting-provider sign-in.

Map and WhatsApp links lead to external services; those services are not embedded into the pages. Your email application and any external service you choose operate under their own terms and privacy notices. They may process information independently of Adad.

The website does not make decisions about you through automated profiling or automated decision-making.

13. Children and special-nature information

The website is intended for professional and business enquiries and is not directed at children. It does not seek special-nature personal data. Please do not use the initial enquiry form to provide health, religious, criminal-record or other special-nature information.

If a proposed matter requires children’s information or special-nature data, the relevant purpose, lawful requirements, permissions and handling arrangements must be addressed before collection or processing. A general website enquiry is not a request for that information.

14. Changes to this notice

The date above identifies the current version. We will update this page when the website’s functions, relevant processing arrangements or applicable requirements change. Where required, a material change will be brought to your attention before the affected processing begins. This notice does not treat continued browsing as blanket consent to new uses of personal data.
