EXPERTISE

Real Estate Legal Advisory

Legal advice on property transactions, development agreements, ownership rights and disputes.

The legal position behind a property asset matters at acquisition, throughout ownership and on exit. Adad advises developers, investors, property owners and lenders on Qatar real estate law, with attention to the rights being acquired, the obligations assumed and the approvals needed to proceed.

Before a transaction, we examine title documents, registered rights, encumbrances, existing leases and the authority of the parties to act. Ownership eligibility, the proposed use and applicable approval and registration requirements are assessed against the particular asset and transaction. Legal due diligence informs the conditions, protections and completion steps negotiated in the agreement.

We prepare and negotiate sale and purchase agreements, development and property joint venture agreements, commercial leases and property-holding arrangements. Price and payment provisions, delivery obligations, warranties, liability, consent rights and exit need to express the commercial bargain clearly. Where financing is involved, the property documents are considered alongside the facility terms and security arrangements.

When a dispute arises, we assess the legal merits, evidence, available remedies and appropriate forum. Our work includes disputes concerning ownership, sale and development agreements, commercial leases and contractual performance. Settlement terms and any transfer, registration or enforcement steps are considered together, with technical and valuation input obtained from the client’s specialist advisers where needed.

Adad’s role is legal advice, legal documentation and representation. Property brokerage, marketing, valuations, financial investment advice and day-to-day property management fall outside this practice.

THE DECISIONS THAT MATTER

01

Title and authority

Establish the rights in the property, existing restrictions and the authority of each party to sell, acquire, lease or grant security.

02

The contractual allocation

Examine payment, delivery, consents, warranties and liability against the intended transaction and the documents the parties will rely on.

03

Completion and protection

Identify the approvals, registration and implementation steps, and assess the available remedies if the transaction or relationship is disputed.
